The sketched outline of the approach to the Pelvoux opposite p. 217, is I believe truer than most things of the kind. It gave me great pleasure to be the first, as I think, at that spot, last night, to felicitate your daughter on her well won crown of alpine rose. Perhaps, at some time of leisure, you would put me still more in your debts by permitting me to wait upon you, and hear the details of your journey.
