Louis Vuitton, a 1920's Louis Vuitton twin handled cabin trunk with fitted and fabric lined interior, the internal lock stamped with the serial number 206866, the interior with Louis Vuitton label, 149 New Bond Street London, the interior tray missing 2 dividers, 33cm h x 54 cm w x 54cm d, fragment of old paper label to the top, fragments of luggage labels to both sides and front, the brass handles to the side marked Rue Scribe Paris Louis Vuitton, 149 New Bond Street, Made in France Provenance - the trunk was purchased by the vendors father in late 1959 from the Waterloo Station Lost property, for the sum of approx 10 pounds. It was then used to for his travels on cruise ships around Miami, Cuba, Haiti, and the Caribbean in general as he was the owner of a Cruise ship Photography Co. then known as Jalcruise. When he set up in Manhattan, New York it was used as storage in the apartment, until our return to the UK in 1963. He continued to use it for his travels on cruise ships and even by car to Europe. He retired the trunk, so to speak in 1979 as he felt that it had done its job and didn't want it too travel damaged. He then used it to store photographs up until his death 16 years ago.
