A Victorian games compendium comprising Staunton pattern chess set, drafts, 28 bone dominoes, cribbage board, 5 (ex 6) bone dice, 3 bone markers, 6 lead figures of race horses, a rectangular metal pond, ditto gate and rail, 8 dice numbered figurally 1-6, 1 marked with gavel and 1 marked with a bell, 5 playing cards - 2 marked bell, 1 marked bell in, 1 marked horse, 1 marked gavel and 1 plain, a turned wooden die shaker, printed guide to compendium (stuck with sellotape), a folding chess, backgammon and steeplechase board (also repaired with sellotape), contained in a pine box 17cm h x 32cm w x 21cm d SOLD £320

One of the black pawns has a cracked body, there are minor chips to the black castles, minor chip to the cross on the white kings crown and also the castles, the drafts with minor contact marks to the edges, all the dominoes have minor chips, 12 have notable chips, the crib board is slightly warped and there is a small section of veneer missing to the edge, 1 of the 6 dice is missing, 4 of the lead horses have damaged legs, all have rubbed paint, the guide and boards have been crudely repaired with sellotape, the pine box has scratches, split to the top and the brass escutcheon is missing to the front
