This set has been stored in an unsealed attic for many years, the volumes are therefore showing commensurate signs of discolouration and deterioration including tears and foxing. The four volumes: "A History of the English-speaking Peoples" have minor creases to the top of the dust jackets, heavy foxing to the edges of the pages (when the book is shut) and the first 1 or 2 pages but the majority of the inside of the books are in good condition. Volume IV has some staining to the dust jacket and all volumes have some minor spotting to the hardcovers. These 4 volumes are generally in good condition. The first two volumes are both marked "first published 1956" the third volume "1957" and the fourth "1958" with none of them having any mention of further printings. The covers of "The World Crisis" books are worn and stained and edges of the pages (when the book is shut) have foxing. The "Second World War" books are in similar condition. The "Marlborough" books have small tears, light staining and wear to the dust jackets and are dirty on the exterior but are otherwise generally in good condition.
