Lot 1050
A Paul De Lamerie Georgian silver brandy warmer with armorial engraving and turned beech handle, the base with 1732 mark and scratch mark weight of 5=7, bottom of hall mark rubbed £2500-3000
AMENDMENT : Lot 1050 is NOT by Paul de Lamerie but by Pierre Platel (de Lamerie's tutor in Silversmithing). The marks are virtually identical but the star in Platel's mark has 6 points and the star in de Lamerie's has 5.

Lot 1050, the Brandy warmer has been mis-catalogued and that is not by Paul de Lamerie but by Pierre Platel. Please see the above amendment. It is the mark for London, circa 1710. There are no assay marks on the piece to confirm quality or date and it is the maker\\\\\\\'s mark which is rubbed to the bottom. The warmer itself is in good order. There are no holes or repairs and no major dents. There are a couple of splits to the handle. We do believe the armorial engraving to be original to the warmer. Please see the attached images.
