Lot 1071
A George III shaped and engraved silver teapot by Hester Bateman with carved ivory pineapple finial London 1787 £150-200

The tea pot is in very good overall condition. There is a slight dent to the body, just to the top left of the monogrammed panel. The spout is sightly mis-shapen to one side but other than this there are no holes or leaks. There are no repairs to the hinge. To the inside of the lid there are HB and lion hallmarks. The tea pot has been used and the inside is quite stained. The handle is wooden and has had a break which has been repaired. The hallmarks both to the lid and to the base are very clear and not rubbed.
