An early 17th Century elm boarded, slab-ended coffer, the front board decorated low relief foliate strapwork and fitted a square lock plate, the interior fitted a candle box with nail hinge 40cm h x 93cm w x 36cm d. Similar strapwork Cesinsk £300-500

The front board has a split that has been reinforced within, evidence of earlier hinges, ring marks to surface, minor dead worm to base of left supporting board.
