A Victorian games compendium contained in an engraved silver plated box with hinged lid, featuring backgammon board, chessboard, 2 ivory circular balls, 5 ivory skittles (1f), various ivory "jack" straws, 54 ivory dominoes and ivory chess pieces £40-60

The box actually has two lids, one on the top of the box and one on the base. One section holds the double sided board (chess & draughts on one side, backgammon on the other)which is in 4 pieces and the other section holds the gaming counters, which include backgammon/draughts, chess, skittles, ivory sticks. None of the counters are complete. All of the chess peices are shown, as are the draughts. There are about 6 skittles and 3 balls, numerous sticks and by far the largest number are the dominoes. The box is lined with a blue satin.
