A second half of the 19th Century soapstone table screen, the chocolate-coloured stone carved with four houses built on rocks by a lake under pine trees and with details including a farmer with a buffalo, others in a rice field, mountains in the distance isolated in toffee-coloured inclusions, signed on the reverse 33.5cm x 26.5cm contained in a carved hardwood stand total height 50cm SOLD £1250

There are minor chips to all corners of the screen and several small nibbles along the edges. There is a flaw in the stone running horizontally along the top through the mountain range. There are some very minor scratches to the front and reverse. There is a crack and some small chips to the pierced carved panel at the foot of the stand.
