Two black and white oak framed aerial photographic prints of the Mohne Dam before and after the Operation Chastise "Dam Busters" strike on May 16th 1943, the post strike photograph signed by surviving members of 617 Squadron also ground crew and admin staff, notably Wg Cdr Guy Gibson V.C DSO DFC whose signature is direct centre over the water rushing through the breach in the dam. 105cm h x 105cm w (89.5cm h x 89.5cm w unframed)  £10000-15000

In June 1943 after the Investiture ceremony for 617 Squadron at Buckingham Palace for their involvement in Operation Chastise, a dinner was held at the Hungaria Restaurant, London, given by the A.V. Roe & Company ( Avro ) which built the Avro Lancaster. The photograph was signed at the dinner and Wg Cdr Guy Gibson is photographed signing his name on the centre. Later photos of Sir Barnes Wallis show the Dam photos hanging in his office.
