A 19th Century French striking 4 glass clock with circular porcelain dial and Roman numerals, with twin mercury pendulum, contained in a 4 glass case (heavily chipped to front bevelled panelled door of case) 7" £500-700

There are no marks to the dial at all but the back of the movement is stamped Japy Freres and Co although the stamp is not evenly impressed. The back of the movement is also impressed AB86182 and at the bottom 58. The clock strikes on a bell not a gong. The dimension given in the catalogue description is actually the width, not the height which is 12 1/2\".
