Lot 191
An 18th Century Irish longcase clock, the 13" square brass dial with gilt metal spandrels and minute indicator (f) by David Gordon of Dublin, striking on a bell and contained in an inlaid mahogany case with broken pediment, raised on bracket feet, 88" £2000-2500

Our apologies but the gentleman that catalogued this clock is away on holiday until the day of the sale. Therefore, the condition report is not as detailed as usual and if you are in any doubt about any part of this condition report or description, please e-mail or telephone with any further questions. The clock appears to be in good condition overall - I am unable to say if the clock is original to case and movement but the movement does fit the seat board very well. There has been talk that the gilt metal spandrels are a later addition as the background of the dial is engraved and these slightly cover the decoration but this is for you to decide (images are attached). The case itself appears to be in quite good order. There has been a repair to the left hand pillar on the hood and there is a split to the veneer just above the door on the body and the door has a split to the beading and a chunk of veneer missing to the top right hand side of the door. There are no weights or pendulums with this lot.
