Lot 200
A late George III mahogany longcase clock, the case with broken swan neck pediment above a broken arch topped door, flanked by turned column supports, the trunk door centred with a patterae depicting musical motifs above a box base, raised on bracket feet. The 12" broken arch brass dial with foliate spandrels and Roman and Arabic silvered chapter ring and second subsidiary dial, set 8 day movement with anchor escapement striking bell, the dial monogrammed SRM, 92"h x 19"w x 11"d

The movement and dial are associated to teh case and not original to it. The movement is original to the dial. The arbours will require re-bushing but other than this the movement is relatively clean. The dial is tarnished. The case cheeks have been re-made to fit the movement. The trunk door is a little warped. There are a few patches of veneer missing. There is later inlay to the box base and the veneer around the door is in poor condition. Overall, we would consider this lot to be in fair/good order.
