A George III wool work sampler with motto "To things the needle and The book we find" by Catherine Broadwood dated 1720 £70-100
Condition report
Lot 222 the sampler is in good order. It is framed to be part of a pole screen and so would need reframing/adjustment if it was to be hung on a wall. The stitching is all in very good order, although it is all faded. The edging is, we consider, strawberries which have faded to a very light pink/white on brownish/green stalks. There are some small holes around the egde of the sampler but none to the centre.
