Two Chinese carved mother of pearl shells decorated birds, raised on carved and pierced stands 23cm x 18cm

One shell has 2 small chips to the edge and the other has a larger chip to the point on which it sits in the stand. Both have some significant loss to the painted decoration and mild scratches. The stands are in good condition.
