Lot 315
An 18th Century flintlock musket with Tower lock and 37" barrel complete with ram rod, the butt marked 666 £125-175

The ram rod appears to be stuck and we are unsure if it is the original one or a replacement. The barrel is in good order although there is some pitting. There is also a small rectangualr flat patch to the barrel - could this be the remains of a sight????. The stock of the gun has been stripped and repolished which give sit an unnaturally shiny appearance. The lock appears to be slightly sticky as it does not draw back smoothly, it seems to catch on the side of the gun.
