Vargues Paris, a French striking mantel clock with enamelled dial contained in a rosewood case inlaid turquoise, mother of pearl and brass, the back plate marked Vargues 378 5-2 Paris, complete with key and pendulum

Condition report

The movement is relatively clean, the pendulum is free and moving. There is rubbing and marks to the ebonising, the brass stringing to the base is lifting, the dial is chipped and cracked, a small section of veneer is missing to the back
