This lot has some minor wear to the frame but is otherwise in good condition and has not had any restoration. Brought up in South Africa he travelled extensively and returned to Britain,where, during the war, he was temporarily blinded by a V2 rocket. He took up painting as a hobby whilst living in Cannes and used a palette knife. He painted idealistic European views of sunny restful days. He retired to Rottingdean in Brighton. His paintings are in the Royal collection
