Lot 47
An 18th Century oyster walnut and brass banded strongbox with hinged lid and gilt metal handles 14"(with gilt metal key) £150-250 ILLUSTRATED

The box is in good overall condition, it is quite faded in colour as illustrated by the back section where it is not all faede. The box and metalwork is complete to the exterior although a couple of the brass bandings are starting to lift. There is no major cracking no any veneer missing from teh outside. The key is present and the lock does turn but we have been unable to lock the box when it is closed. The interior of the box is missing.
