A pair of 19th Century Meissen porcelain sweet meat dishes decorated a reclining lady and gentleman (gentleman toes chipped) f), the base with crossed sword mark and impressed 2863S, the ladies base impressed 2858 8" (ladies toes chipped) £100-200 ILLUSTRATED

The chipped toes mentioned in teh catalogue are not the only damage to this lot. The male figure has a large chip to the dish which has been obviously repaired. There are some small firing cracks to the rolled ends of the dish. There is light chipping to the flowers, especially but not exclusively around the broken segment. There is a small crack to the mans right hand cuff. The female figure has teh same firing cracks to the rolled ends of the dish. Her left hand is missing. The bow to her hair has some missing and there is a chip to the back of the shawl. Both figures are very grubby and in need of cleaning.
