Lot 510
Samuel Nash. A good George III 8 day London longcase clock with 5 pillar movement striking on bell, the domed hood with brass ball finials enclosing a 12" arched brass dial, the silvered chapter rings with Roman numerals, having strike/silent seconds, calendar subsidiary dials and floral and scroll spandrels, inscribed Samuel Nash, London, flanked by columns, contained in a figured mahogany case with long door and quarter fluted brass capped columns to the sides, with moulded base on bracket feet 92"h, complete with pendulum and weights SOLD £3000

The strike/silent bar has possibly been replaced. The gut that runs the chime is broken and it is missing the pulley for the chime weight. However, this clock was working in the vendors property but as clocks do not travel well, we do not guarantee them to be in working order nor can we comment on its time keeping abilities. The dimensions of the clock are as follows; 93" to the top of the brass finial or 87 1/2" to to of wooden block on case x 20" max wide x 10" max depth.
