Lot 550
A handsome matched pair of Victorian opaque turquoise glass club shaped vases decorated birds 15 1/2" high SOLD £420

There are some faults to this lot but nothing too serious. The vase with the bird facing left has wear to the gilding just below the body as well as a slight chip/fault and a very small chip to the bottom of the base. The gilding around the base is also slightly rubbed (all of these faults can be seen in images 1, 2 & 3). The other vase has 2 scratches to the body at the top to the left of the butterfly. There are 2 faults which are gilded over so we assume that they are from manufacture to the band just below the body and the banded gilt decoration is also rubbed on this vase - in fact, it is more worn that the first. There are no large chips or cracks and no attempted restoration.
