Lot 553
A 1920's/30's pottery figure of a standing lady with greyhound, the base marked S K Cope, Burslem no. 1, 9" £20-30

This lot would originally have been lovely. The figure and dog are beautifully formed. However, whilst the dog is in good order, with only crazing to the clear glaze, the figure has most definitely seen better days. There is a large hairline cracks which runs around the base of the woman, there has been some restoration of her on the back as the colouring and texture are not quite right on the back of her coat. To the front of the woman, the hands have definitely been broken adn restored because her once delicate fingers are now like sausages and you can see by looking at an angle that there is a hole underneath her hands. The figure is incised to the base S K Cope Burslem NO 1.
