A 1930's, World War Two Japanese Company officers Shin Gunto (military sword), the blade 68cm long including copper collar, the Tsuba decorated blossoms and hearts with the o-seppas having pierced hearts, the Tang with 7 character mark and V-shaped file mark pattern, the standard bound pommel decorated blossoms with brown and blue dress knot attached to the buttcap, the scabbard of black lacquered wood with removable leather cover attached by two press studs SOLD £500

The leather is torn to the base end of the scabbard around the area of a press stud. There are several chips to the lacquer beneath the leather. There is a tear to the binding in the middle of the pommel together with black string in the same area. There are some very small nicks to the cutting edge. Both blade and scabbard are straight. The cutting edge of the blade is 66cm and the scabbard is 70cm long.
