Lot 558
A Georgian rectangular silver table snuff box with revelling scene and waisted body with engine turned base, Birmingham 1834, 11 ozs, 4.75"

This box is quite large. It measures approx 11.5cm wide x 3.5cm high x 7.5cm deep. The hinge is not quite true so the lid does not close entirely. The gilding from the interior is very, very worn. There are minor scratches to the body but the lid detail is very crisp. Overall, this is a lovely piece which we would give 8/10. The box is made by Joseph Willmore, perhaps the best 19th Century silver box maker, particularly for castle topped vinaigrettes and snuff boxes.
