A pair of Meiji period ivory and lacquered tusks decorated birds

One of the tusks is missing some large sections of lacquer from the tree stumps at the bottom and has 2 cracks running up the inside from the bottom. The other tusk is in good condition. They date from the Meiji period which ran from 1868 to 1912.
