A Chinese blue summer silk gauze women's informal robe, Qing Dynasty, circa 1890 showing influence of Empress Dowager Cixi. The body of the robe woven circular panels of dragons, the body trimmed in royal blue then cream decorated foliage flowers, birds and Pagodas then gilt decorated butterflies. The sleeves trimmed in sky blue decorated pink roses and insects and then cream decorated as per the body. 121cm collar to hem
