A late 19th century German hand cranked Polyphon with porcelain automaton figures contained in an ebonised case. The case a facade of a building, having an upper section speaker set behind ebonised fretwork frame, the lower glazed section with pair of male and female porcelain figures affixed to ebony and pine chequered 'floor' with mirrored 'walls'. 6 nine inch discs accompany the player, 30cm h x 32cm w x 37cm d  £800-1200

The Polyphon does play however the figures only appear to move slightly. The case is in very good condition but the cloth of two of the six side circular speaker vents is pierced. There is a family photo album documenting the family history of the Polyphon since 1905
