Lot 862
Holmes London, an 18th Century dead beat longcase clock with 5 pillar movement, the 30cm arched dial with strike/silent dial, minute indicator, calendar aperture, contained in a mahogany case, complete with weights and pendulum 220cm h SOLD £3000

This clock has some damage to the fret work panels to both sides of the hood and splits to the arched panels in the top. There is a small section of wood missing from the left side of the hood in the bottom front corner. The case has possibly been reduced in height and the panelled base has some minor splits in the grain of the wood but there are no signs of worm. The case door has a very slight warp at the base. The hood glass is possibly a repacement.
