This painting has some cracking throughout though particuarly noticeable on the gentlemen's face. It is otherwise in fairly good condition. It has been re-lined. There is some minor damage to the frame (mostly at the bottom). The gentlemen in the picture is a Scottish surgeon and so extremely unlikely to be an Irish engineer. Additional images added.
