Lot 956
A handsome Victorian tortoiseshell and ivory twin compartment tea caddy, of lozenge form with hinged lid, the body carved classical buildings, raised on 4 bun feet (some damage to top right hand and to hinges) 8" £400-600

As you may notice, there have been a couple of amendments to the catalogue description. Firstly, the caddy is carved classical buildings- not cast and secondly, it is raised on 4 bun feet as 3 implied one was missing which is not the case. The caddy is in very good overall condition. The only obvious damage being that mentioned in the description. To the back there is shell missing aound each of the hinges and there is a large chip to the underside of the rim of the lid. There are also a number of small chips to the corners around both the topand the bottom.
