**Thomas James Carr (British/Irish, 1909-1999), Landscape with Trees, Figures and Buildings, oil on board, signed, 26m x 36cm, within a painted wood frame. Note: Born in Belfast, Thomas Carr studied at the Slade School of Fine Art before travelling widely in Europe and later settling in Newcastle, County Down. Associated with the Euston Road School during the 1930s, he is best known for realist paintings of domestic interiors and rural landscapes. Carr exhibited extensively in London from the mid-1930s and was included in the Objective Abstraction exhibition at the Zwemmer Gallery in 1935.
