Ernest Howard Farmer (British, 1856-1944), Wiltshire Thatcher Lot Long, 19th century gelatin silver print photograph, titled "Devonshire Thatcher"? to label verso, 60.8cm x 44.4cm, within a stained oak frame. Note: this rare and historically important Victorian photograph is of exceptional significance as the source material for the iconic album cover of Led Zeppelins fourth studio album (1971), one of the most influential and recognisable records in the history of rock music. This lot has some staining to the top left of the image but is otherwise generally in good condition. It has been entered for sale from the estate of a prolific collector and ex journalist.
